In
the beginning…
God used a short-term mission trip to the White Mountain Apache
Reservation to plant the seed. That seed, in just over one
year grew into a conviction
of God’s calling. In April, 2003 Beth and Greg Smith committed
in faith to be in Arizona by August of that year to help Pete and
Kim Kemp in their ministry. God was faithful in that commitment.
The dimensions of Dunamis Ministries…
• Jail: The Gospel is brought three times a week including GED classes
for
men and women.
• Rainbow Treatment Center: Ministry through sharing the Gospel, crafts, & activities.
• Apache Christian Church: Nurturing individuals and families in the Gospel.
• Homeless Shelter: Bringing food and a warm smile to individuals seeking
God’s hope.
• Pregnancy Center: An opportunity to minister and counsel
young women.
• Bus Ministry: A ministry for the children of the
reservation.
The dream of Dunamis Ranch…
The Ranch idea started in a conversation with a Professor of Counseling from
Johnson Bible College. After Greg and Beth began to see life on the Rez, it
became clear that what started as a conversation, God would use as a specific
tool for His Kingdom.
Dunamis Ranch would contain…
A home for the Smiths, this will divert monies used for housing
back into the ministry. Next, build a dormitory for year-round
mission teams. In the future, the plan is to add a Worship Center.
Dunamis Ranch will benefit God’s
Kingdom…
The Ranch will be used to fulfill two key aspects of ministry described in Scripture:
evangelism and discipling. These facilities will allow individuals and families
to discover a variety of ways to share the Gospel (evangelism). In addition,
the Ranch will be a place for Apache Christians to come from the Rez for a time
of encouragement, fellowship, prayer, training, counseling, and worship (discipling).
The Ranch’s progress…
Last fall a group of individuals visited Arizona to begin the process of seeking
God’s direction for Dunamis Ranch. After six months with analyzing over
50 properties, a consensus was reached for the location of Dunamis Ranch. With
seed money provided by God’s servants, land was purchased in March, 2005.
As of the winter of 2007, Dunamis missionaries Greg and Beth Smith are residing at the home built at Dunamis Ranch. And thanks to many week-long trips by several Dunamis supporters who have worked on the worship center since the land purchase, the building is far enough along to house overnight visitors on trips to the mission. We continue to seek support to complete the worship center and expand the grounds at Dunamis Ranch.
The next step…
Prayerfully consider your participation in Dunamis Ministries’ capital
campaign “Sending Laborers into His Harvest.” It is possible for
one individual or family’s support (prayerfully and financially) to impact
God’s Kingdom for eternity. Jesus said, “For in this the saying is
true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’” John 4:37 NKJV
